College football media pulls Texas football after upset with Kansas

Texas football hit a new low on Saturday with an overtime loss to Kansas, the big underdog. The college football media has roasted the centuries.

After four straight losses, Texans football and first-year head coach Steve Sarkissian seem to have had a break from the schedule gods when they welcomed the Kansas Jayhawks to Austin, the undefeated Longhorns at DKR Texas Memorial Stadium.

That changed on Saturday night.

The Texans went into a huge early hole, trailing 35-14 in the first inning and 42-21 by one point in the second. They climbed up and out of this deficit, and with their last-minute tumbles, they were forced to work overtime. After scoring in the extra period, they couldn’t stop KS. And the Jayhawks went for it all, taking two points and turning for the win.

And, as you’d expect, reactions to the shocking loss were not kind to Texas football.

All this criticism is fully justified for Texas football.

This team has talent on the roster to hang out with the majority of teams in the country. But now they’re losing out to the Kansas jockeys in the Big 12 every year. Furthermore, this is the Longhorns’ fifth consecutive defeat.

This would be a sour taste that Steve Sarkissian would be hard pressed to wash from the mouths of Austin fans.
