Baylor 24, Oklahoma 14 reaction
Oklahoma didn’t play well, didn’t get a really great start to 9-0, and sure enough that looked and played as a team that was late, in a way, way, long to catch up by two pieces, but…
Don’t automatically assume that this team is dead yet.
2020: Lost a Big 12 match. Won the Big 12 title.
2019: Lost a Big 12 match. Won the Big 12 title, and went to CFP.
2018: Lost a Big 12 match. Won the Big 12 title, and went to CFP.
2017: Lost a Big 12 match. Won the Big 12 title, and went to CFP.
2016: Lost two non-conference matches. He won the Big 12 title.
2015: Lost a Big 12 match. Won the Big 12 title, and went to the CFP.
Now, there are some other parts to this. None of those losses came in November, and none of Oklahoma’s teams were as incompetent as this one that appears to be coming out with a consistent performance.
But enough about Oklahoma. Baylor won this match. Baylor had been the toughest team on the lines, the defense was great, and now his 12-year title hopes are still alive after losing to the TCU last week in an astonishing fashion.
The offensive line ran away for nearly 300 yards – Abram Smith and QB Jerry Bohanan were great – Caleb Williams shut down defense and halted all Heisman’s hopes, and when needed, the team withdrew late.
Now you need to beat Kansas on the road and get help from Texas Tech and get some help, but…
Oklahoma in the Big 12 if you beat Iowa State and Oklahoma State.
The way OU plays, though, isn’t even close to being given this time around.
