Conor McGregor reveals how many fights left on his UFC contract

Conor McGregor took to social media to reveal information about his current contract with the UFC.

Conor McGregor, the former UFC Lightweight Champion, took to Twitter on Saturday for a question-and-answer session with fans. There were a number of interesting anecdotes that emerged during the discussion, including details about his current contract with the UFC.

“I have two fights left on my contract,” McGregor wrote when asked about the possibility of starting his promotion. “I’d like to be with the UFC for life. I’m a UFC! We’ll see.”

UFC contract statuses are a topic that is not often touched upon in the public eye, especially with notable names like McGregor. In September of 2018, McGregor signed a hexagonal deal with the promotion, which included an interesting feature for his whiskey brand, Proper Twelve, being included as a sponsor every time he steps into the Octagon.

Since then, four of those fights have occurred with McGregor leading 1-3 in that round, and he has finished in both of those defeats. He dropped two fights to Dustin Poirier, and one to Khabib Nurmagomedov, while defeating Donald Cerrone.

Who will fight Conor McGregor when he returns?

Several names have emerged as potential opponents of McGregor’s return as he recovers from the leg injury he suffered at UFC 264. Contenders such as Michael Chandler continue his campaign for a fight, while McGregor has hinted that he intends to fight for the title upon his return. But he has shown interest in a potential fight against the former Bellator champ.

Chandler finally competed at UFC 268 as he and Justin Gethje fought an exciting three-fight battle to unlock the main card. Prior to that, he and Charles Oliveira competed for the lightweight title at UFC 262 where Oliveira became champion by stopping in the second round.
