Florida State is expected to play SEC in a bowl game

Seminoles, Florida is one win away from hitting bowling season. The transformation will be very noticeable for coach Mike Norville and his team after they started the game 0-4 and then dropped to 3-6. With the postseason approaching in December, many publications are beginning to issue pot forecasts.

Earlier this week, Brett McMurphy released his roster, playing Florida State in the Gasparilla Bowl against Tulsa.

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has also been putting up his projections for the bowl over the past few days. In his forecast, Palm owns the Seminoles against the Arkansas in the Alligator. It’s supposed to be a SEC vs B1G match but the latest conference may not have enough pot sites depending on the final week of the season. The Gator Bowl will be held in Jacksonville at 11 a.m. on December 31.

Arkansas is currently 7-4 and ranked 25th ahead of its last regular season game against Missouri. The Razorbacks have won three of their last four games under second year coach Sam Pittman. Starting quarterback KJ Jefferson completed 66% of his passes for 2,316 yards with 20 touchdowns for three interceptions. Jefferson also rushed for 496 yards and five touchdowns.

Former Florida State offensive coordinator Kendall Brills heads up the Razorbacks. Wide receiver Warren Thompson, who moved away from Tallahassee over the holiday season, is the team’s leading third receiver with 18 catches for 292 yards and two touchdowns.

The storylines could be set for an interesting game, especially as Florida State is looking to finish with a better than .500 record for the first time since 2017. The Seminoles will have to qualify for a bowl first. The Florida Gators are playing for this opportunity on Saturday afternoon.
