Preview of the game Oregon vs. Utah

Why Oregon will win

Now this is the Oregon we’ve been waiting for.

After a few tough fights and mediocre performances, the ducks have been batting over the past few weeks with Travis Dye and QB Anthony Brown – who ran for 123 yards against Washington State – to get the slack without CJ Verdell.

The offense was playing as physical, tough, and ready to defend as Utah was.

The ground attack hit 200 yards in five of the last six games with nearly 1,000 yards in the last three.

Utah might have had a great and vicious defense, but she gave up 200 yards to Oregon, and lost. I gave up 200+ rushing yards for both BYU and San Diego State, losing those two games.

The team is 7-0 when it doesn’t allow 200 yards, 0-3 when it does. More than that, the program is 0-for-last-8 – dating back to early 2017 – when it allows for two invoices.

Why does Utah win?

Utah’s offensive line crushes everything.

It took a week off against exhausted Arizona — the team ran just 174 yards in a 38-29 win — but Cameron Rising and the passing game made up for it. Call it a rest while the team prepares for what’s to come.

The ground game destroyed Stanford 441 yards to the ground. I beat UCLA for 290, and overall, the offense was better and more efficient as the season went on.

Oregon’s defense is brimming with talent, but he hasn’t faced a large group of teams that could defeat. UCLA can get rough, Ohio State can move the ball, but it’s often not dealt with a streak that can hit like this.

This is the offensive side. The defensive front lives in the background – she’s #1 in the Pac 12 in the sacks and steps in for a loss – and she’s about to pressure Anthony Brown to pick at least one key.

Then there is this…

What will happen

2016 was a lost season for Oregon, so November didn’t matter, but the 2017 team was trying to get things back in order to lose in Washington in early November.

The great 2018 team was on the verge of sinking but a loss on November 32-25 in Utah ended that.

The 2019 team overcame their loss to Auburn to win nine in a row as it looked like it was on its way to the college football game. He went to Tempe, and left with a 31-28 loss.

Obviously last season was strange as the season started on the 7th of the month, but even so the Ducks have gone six straight years with a major loss in November.

This is the game Utah has been waiting for. This is the chance to take the South, return to the Pac-12 Championship for the third time in four years, and keep the dream of going to the Rose Bowl alive.

You’ll get it done with a hard physical performance with some key takeaways that make up for some of the late stalls. Utah will win big, everyone will storm the field, and College Football Playoff will lose another major competitor.

(Then Oregon State will defeat Oregon State and win the Pac 12 Championship.)
